Pastor: Rev. Wayne MacPherson

Rev. Wayne MacPherson was ordained and called as Pastor and Teacher of Bethlehem United Church of Christ (BUCC) in 1992. Previously he served as Pastor of Summerdale Community Church (UCC) in the Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago from 1989-1992.

He currently serves as the UCC's "Dean of Cluster #2" of the Chicago Metropolitan Association (CMA) and as a member of the CMA Nominating Committee. He has previously served on the CMA's Church & Ministry Committee (chairing the In-Care subcommittee for four years), the Illinois Conference Annual Meeting Planning Committee, the Board of Pastors for Lifelink Corporation (serving as Chair for four years), and as Coordinator of the Illinois Chapter of the UCC Coalition for LGBT Concerns.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Speech from Northwestern University in 1976 then completed his Master of Divinity from The Chicago Theological Seminary in 1992. He met his partner of 32 years, Vincent McCoy, while a student at Northwestern. He has taken several courses in writing and storytelling and is currently a voice student of Janice Pantezelos of the Chicago Studio of Professional Singing.

Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper: Andrew Weir

Andrew joined Bethlehem United Church of Christ (BUCC) in a part-time capacity during the Spring of 2006, accepting the expanded role of part-time Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper. Andrew holds a B.A. in Business with a concentration in Finance from Westminster College, Fulton, MO as well as an M.F.A. in Theatre from Western Illinois University, Macomb, IL.

Andrew, Cynthia, and their two-year-old daughter Lily, moved to Chicago in September of 2005. Andrew is also a professional actor in town and will be performing in a two-person musical produced by One Theatre Company. The Last Five Years opens May 30th at the Athenaeum Theatre.
